GPS Dog Collar vs Invisible Fence

These two systems solve the same problem with opposite engineering. One puts the boundary in software; the other puts it in the ground.

Product-selection methodology

How we decide what to recommend

Every system is assessed against the same criteria — positioning technology, boundary behavior, coverage, subscription terms, battery and charging, feedback options, dog size limits, weather resistance, support, warranty and three-year cost of ownership. We publish category verdicts such as “best without a subscription” rather than invented decimal scores, and every page states whether we have tested the product.

No product on DogTech currently carries a hands-on tested label. We would rather say that than imply experience we do not have.

Common questions

A collar-based containment system that compares your dog's satellite position against a boundary you draw in an app, then gives escalating feedback near the edge. No wire and no transmitter box.
